Job Description

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic and creative Digital Marketing Specialist for our team. The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting and protecting the company’s reputation by developing and executing digital marketing campaigns, coordinating public relations strategies, creating/managing social media content and copywriting content for multiple uses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and manage social media content across multiple platforms (including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) using Hootsuite and Adobe InDesign
  • Implement social media advertisements strategically
  • Develop and send out e-newsletters using Mailchimp (monthly updates and additional promos/teasers to our subscribers)
  • Increase our social media engagement and follow through with strategic connections with relevant industry partner accounts
  • Gather and analyze social media data (to ensure we are following pre-determined KPI’s)
  • Use Adobe InDesign (and occasionally, Illustrator) to create marketing collaterals for multiple uses (including social media posts, digital ads, video overlays, e-newsletter content, virtual banners, posters etc.)
  • Create press releases and manage basic public relations
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to create materials for partner acquisitions, conferences and more.
  • Guide potentials users through virtual tours of our metaverse (on occasion)
  • Assist in internal communications
  • Write and schedule blog posts that are posted to our website
  • Provide innovative ideas and content to elevate the VR City brand

  • Strong creative thinking and storytelling skills
  • Great sense of initiative and leadership
  • A curious and innovative mindset that can thrive in a start-up environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, with multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Confidence in networking with industry professionals
  • Working knowledge of HubSpot and Google Analytics is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset
  • Social media and digital communication management skills (experience with Hootsuite and/or Mailchimp is considered an asset)


  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in Sales and Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or another relevant field
  • A minimum of one year of experience in marketing, communications, or social media management
  • Must be fluent in English

Job Type: Full-Time

Benefits: Extended Health Care

Schedule: Flexible 8-hour shift for 5 days per week

Work: Remote (if you live in Winnipeg or Calgary, can be a hybrid work model)
